Anne Elizabeth Magurran is a population biologist at St. Andrews University in Scotland. She obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Ulster and was a postdoctoral fellow at the universities of Bangor and Oxford. She is the author of several important books on biological diversity and its quantification, as essential for biological conservation. She has worked with Robert May and other leading biologists, including Helder Queiroz, whom she advised.
